In preparation for your surgical procedure at Queens Surgical Center, it is important that the following processes and protocols are followed to help guarantee the best outcomes before, during and after your procedure.

It is important that you carefully follow any directives given to you by your physician in the days leading up to your surgery.

These directives might include completing certain diagnostic tests or blood work before your procedure.

It is critical to have any such tests or diagnostic work completed before your scheduled procedure so that the results can be received and processed in time before the surgery.

The tests or diagnostics you may require will vary based on your procedure. It is crucial to remain in close communication with your physician and carefully follow the protocols you are prescribed prior to surgery.

On the day of your surgery or the night before, you might be required not to eat for at least 8 hours before the operation or to only eat very lightly. The instructions will vary based on your procedure. Your physician will communicate precise instructions about any dietary restrictions that will be necessary prior to your surgery.

Please call us at least 24 hours before your operation to confirm you will be coming in for surgery.

All patients for surgery MUST have a responsible adult accompany them, who will be responsible for taking them home after their procedure.

If you do not have someone to escort you after the procedure, please contact our staff at (718) 425-4850 to arrange for a care partner to accompany you home from your procedure.
