George Pei Herng Young, MD

Urologist

George Pei Herng Young, MD, is a renowned urologist with a distinguished career spanning several decades. He earned his Medical Doctorate with honors from the University of Brasilia, Brazil, in 1983. He has since held prominent positions in the field of urology, including Director of Female Urology, Neurourology, Urodynamics, and Reconstructive Urology Unit at The New York Presbyterian Hospital. He has also served as an Associate Clinical Professor of Urology at Mount Sinai Hospital and Weill Medical College of Cornell University.

Currently, Dr. Young is an Attending Urologist at both Lenox Hill Hospital and N.Y. Presbyterian Hospital Queens. He has been recognized multiple times as one of the Best Doctors in America and has been featured in the Strathmore Who is Who in America and the Top Doctors – NY Metro Area, A Castle Connolly Guide.

Dr. Young is board-certified by the American Board of Urology and holds medical licenses in Massachusetts, New York, and California. His professional affiliations are extensive, including memberships in the American Medical Association, Chinese American Medical Society, New York County Medical Society, and the American Urological Association. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Trustee of the National Urology Advisory Board for the Kidney & Urology Foundation of America.

His commitment to excellence in the field of urology is evident in his numerous honors and awards, such as the 2nd Prize in the American Urological Association “Essay Contest” and being named the Best Surgical Resident of The Year at Staten Island University Hospital.

In addition to his clinical and academic contributions, Dr. Young has also ventured into research, with copyrights like the microsurgical orthotopic testicular transplantation in isogenic rats, which he co-authored with Goldstein, M. in 1982.

Outside of his medical pursuits, Dr. Young is a dedicated family man, married with three children. He is a dual citizen of the US and Brazil, reflecting his rich cultural background and diverse experiences.
