Jennifer Wei Liao, MD, is a highly experienced ophthalmologist licensed to practice medicine in New York State. She is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Liao earned her medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine. Prior to that, she completed her bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences (Summa Cum Laude) at Hunter College in New York, where she was awarded the Monroe Bablove Research Award in Health Sciences and Excellence in Scholarship in Medical Laboratory Sciences.

Before pursuing her medical degree, Dr. Liao studied undergraduate Biochemistry at Fudan University in Shanghai, China. She completed her residency in Ophthalmology at North Shore University Hospital, North Shore-LIJ Health System, in Manhasset, New York. Dr. Liao also finished her internship in Internal Medicine at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York.

Dr. Liao has been in private practice as an ophthalmologist since 2003, and she has been affiliated with Flushing Hospital Medical Center. She also held the position of Clinical Assistant Professor at the New York University School of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology, and she has been an Assistant Attending Physician at North Shore University Hospital, North Shore-LIJ Health System.

Dr. Liao is a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, and the Medical Society of the State of New York. She is fluent in multiple Chinese dialects, including Mandarin, Shanghainese, and Cantonese.
