Mark L. Hornfeld, DO

Ophthalmologist

Mark L. Hornfeld, DO, is a board-certified ophthalmologist, holding certifications from the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathy from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and holds a B.S. in Biology from the State University of New York at Albany.

Dr. Hornfeld has been in private practice, focusing on general ophthalmology, cataract, and refractive surgery since 1996. He holds several hospital positions, including Associate Attending at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, Attending Surgeon at Fifth Avenue Surgicenter, and Attending Surgeon at Mackool Eye Institute.

Dr. Hornfeld completed his ophthalmology residency at Saint Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York, where he also served as Chief Resident. He has experience in medical oncology, having completed a fellowship at Cabrini Medical Center, as well as an internal medicine residency at the same institution. He also completed an osteopathic rotating internship at Brooklyn Jewish/Interfaith Medical Center.

As a member of professional societies, Dr. Hornfeld is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and a member of the New York Society of Ophthalmic Surgeons. His humanitarian efforts include serving as an ophthalmic surgeon at Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai, India, and being a member of the Global Investment Group for The Hunger Project.
