Rumei Yuan, MD, is an accomplished ophthalmologist at Queens Surgical Center, where she specializes in medical and surgical eye care. With over 25 years of experience in the field, Dr. Yuan has made significant contributions to the medical community through her research, fellowships, and professional work.

Throughout her career, Dr. Yuan has been actively involved in research and academic pursuits. She completed a Ph.D. in Vision Science at the State University of New York, College of Optometry, and received the “Herman Seager Award” for the best original research paper. She also served as a research associate at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and a research fellow at Emory Eye Center and the Centers for Disease Control.

Dr. Yuan is a member of the medical community both nationally and internationally. She received her M.D. from Sun Yat-Sen University of Medical Sciences in Guangzhou, China, and is currently a medical officer in the Navy Reserve. She also completed her residency at Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center at Sun Yat-Sen University of Medical Sciences.
